The Queensland and Australian Governments fund projects in the Mackay Whitsunday region to improve water quality throughout its catchment areas.
The Queensland Government currently has a number of sugarcane extension support projects being delivered throughout the Mackay and Whitsunday region.
These projects are providing support to growers to improve the productivity and profitability of their farms.

Between 2020 - 2024 the Mackay Whitsunday Water Quality Program was funded by the partnership between the Australian Government’s Reef Trust and the Great Barrier Reef Foundation. Information on individual projects can be found below.
