Going the Distance Mackay Whitsunday - Sugarcane Nutrition & Yield Constraint Project

Farmacist are working with the QLD Department of Environment and Science to deliver the Going the Distance project over the next two cropping seasons (2024-24 & 2025-26). The project delivered by Farmacist is part of the $4.38 million Sugarcane Practice Change Program funded through the Queensland Government’s Queensland Reef Water Quality Program. The Sugarcane Practice Change Program works directly with growers and aims to boost farm productivity while reducing nutrient and sediment loss to waterways that flow to the Great Barrier Reef. This project will provide agronomy support, farm yield constraint mapping and nutrient management planning for up to 20 Sugarcane growers across the Proserpine River, O’Connell River, Pioneer River and Plane Creek catchments.
